IS THIS AUTHENTIC? Never seen this dog before...

I am sorry about the capital letters. Just want people to answer my question. I was browsing auctions and found an "Authentic" American girl dog named Katy.
Is this real or am have I not heard of her? Curt doesn't have Katy on his site.... [img]graemlins/hmmm.gif[/img] [img]confused.gif[/img]

I can't post a link to ebay but she's listed as OLD American Girl Doll Katy dog.
She comes with a coconut place mat which is from coconut!!

I've never seen it, even on ebay before at all. I emailed her and asked when the dog was released and if there was a tag that said AG or PC on it at all. We'll see what/if they answer.

I've NEVER seen that dog before. and I've been collecting for AGOT since it came out. I can't guarantee that it's not legit, of course, but I don't recognize it at ALL.

It is also very large - much larger than any of the AG dogs.

You know it says American Dog - I wonder if it is another brand and she is assuming that it is American Girl

here's the seller's response to my question, I told her I didn't agree with her, but thanked her for her response:

Thanks for your interest. The tag actually states, " American Dog ", which was then purchased by American Girl. This is an older item, and that is the information I was told.

From styling it actually looks like Sandy...perhaps made by the same manufacturer? But def not AG...been following from the beginning and def don't recognize her.
